Shipments
If you contact us before we sign and ship your order, we can certainly make modifications.
Please note that we do not drop ship artwork from a mass printing service. Every print is reviewed, hand-signed, numbered, and packed by us! As a result, orders can take up to a week to be fulfilled.
Please let us know ASAP if you need your artwork sooner, and we will do our best to accommodate you. Email us at: support@AffineDesign.com
We are currently shipping to the United States and have plans to expand outside the United States soon.
We ship all our products from Rochester, New York.
Yes! Contact us and we can arrange a pickup.
We sleeve all of our prints in archival bags before rolling and shipping them in heavy duty, large diameter tubes. We also include a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, bill of sale, and fun extras.
No. A drop shipping service does not allow for high-quality control, personal signature and numbering of artwork, and adequate documentation.
All of our prints are inspected after printing, carefully sleeved with archival bags, and packaged in heavy duty, large diameter tubes. In the rare event that your print arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of receipt. Include your order number and images of the damaged product (shipping container and artwork) and we will be happy to help you.
Returns
Yes, but please note that we limit returns because prints have customized signature options. Returns without cause may result in a partial refund. Review our Return Policy for more details.
Yes.
- Returns due to shipping damages must be disclosed within 7 days after receiving the item
- All other returns need to be initiated within 30 days after receiving the item
Care and Handling
To minimize risk of damage, we sleeve prints in acid-free archival bags before rolling them up. We recommend that you keep your print in the sleeve until it is ready to be framed. When removing the print from the sleeve, we recommend that you:
- Ensure your hands are clean, lotion-free, and dry
- Use cotton gloves (if possible)
- Avoid rubbing or scraping the print area as the surface can be scuffed
- Have a clean, dry, flat place to unpackage the print
- Reroll unframed prints when transporting
Maximize the lifetime of your artwork by keeping it out of direct sunlight. Please do not get the print wet. Your print will appear most vibrant when illuminated with a 90+ CRI (color rendering index) light source.
Print Production
- We focus on selling lower volume, high impact artwork of exceptional quality
- We work with an industry-leading fine art printing studio to ensure artwork is created to the most exacting standards
- All artwork is printed on color-calibrated wide format printers using custom printing profiles
- Every piece is produced with archival pigment inks and archival papers
- We personally and meticulously inspect, sign, number, package, and ship all of our products
All of our prints are rendered at a resolution of 16,000 x 24,000 pixels. This results in an image resolution of 400 pixels per inch (ppi) for a 40 x 60 print and significantly higher pixel densities for smaller sizes. At these resolutions, we are limited more by the current state-of-the-art printing technology than our rendering process. Standard fine art prints usually have a resolution of 300 ppi.
Our artwork shows off more detail the larger they are printed due to the extreme resolution of the original file.
Yes! In Rochester New York, to be specific.
Signatures
We sign prints in the paper margin just below the print, or on the back in an equivalent location.
Since Dan and Sean collaborate on the creation artwork, they take turns signing everything. Dan signs work as DSBrennan and Sean signs work as SDBrennan. Hopefully that isn't too confusing.
Yes. Often in math and science, the concept of “up” is arbitrary. This is the case with our artwork too! We don’t want to force our interpretation upon you, so we let you choose the orientation in which your print is signed.
Yup. We'll put information on the back of your print instead.

Other Questions
We use MATLAB to make all of our content. MATLAB is an analysis and computing software used by students, engineers, scientists, and many others. We chose MATLAB because it is widely used in academia and industry. Hopefully we can inspire others to make their own art too.
